Pastor James A. Green
The idea of permanent residency began to take root, not long after becoming a
member of one of Indy’s local churches. Since that time, he has been actively involved
in the Ministry of Christian Education, providing educational leadership and service in
the local churches of his membership, as well as on a convention level. He has a
strong passion for the teaching/educational ministry and has matriculated toward a
Bachelors of Theology at Central Baptist Theological Seminary of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Pastor Green began his service in the pastoral ministry in August, 2001, when he
accepted the call to the pastorate of our Greater Gethsemane Missionary Baptist
Church. “It feels just like home because of the long relationship that already existed. I’m
pleased to say, this is my first pastorate and I plan on it being my only pastorate. You
are welcome to grow and serve with us in the ministries of this Garden.”
Brief Biography

James A. Green, a native of Danville, Illinois considers Indianapolis home as much as
Danville, since by now, he’s lived there over half of his life. Originally coming to Indy to
attend ITT Technical Institute, he obtained an Associate of Applied Science Degree in
Architectural Engineering Technology. Shortly after accepting a career position with a
local engineering firm, he acknowledged his call into the gospel preaching ministry. He
was licensed to preach by his home church, Second Baptist, in Danville, under the
former pastorate of his father, the late Albert W. Green.
